Reading Island delivers the articles and files you choose to your own e-ink device. This page explains which data passes through that delivery path and how you can manage it.
Content you send
When you tap send, Reading Island processes the title, text, or file you selected. Markdown, TXT, and EPUB are currently supported. This content is used only to complete the delivery.
Delivery service
The content you send passes through the Reading Island delivery service, which stores it briefly, wakes your paired device, and generates a download link. The service applies an expiry time and a download-count limit.
Pairing credentials
No account registration is required. Your iPhone or Mac pairs using the 6-digit code shown on the Onyx device, and the resulting credential is stored locally on your device.
Local files
Files downloaded on the Onyx device are saved to /sdcard/Documents/ReadIsland. You can manage them through the Onyx file manager or the Reading Island home screen.
We do not use your content for any other purpose
Reading Island does not use the content you send for advertising, model training, or content analysis, and never distributes it as public content. If you have any questions about how your data is handled, email hello@figedu.com.
